Vintage opal glass screw back 40s earrings with a gold tone setting. Opal glass was produced in the 40s, and it is an opalescent glass with colored foil set in it. These are large earrings measuring 3/4" long. Surrounded by rhinestones. One stone has a mold mark from the glass mold used to make it. It looks like a wrinkle in the surface of the stone, but it doesn't show on casual inspection.
